Spirit of Scalabrini

G.B. Scalabrini was the man in history (1839-1905) who reflected and acted on the sufferings on migrant workers when he wrote “How bitter is the bread of migrants.” In his name, many orphanages, hospitals and educational institutions were set up in Brazil to help Italian migrants 100 years ago. These institutions are living monuments to the spirit of a man known as the Father to Migrants who worked with compassion for the needy migrant worker.
